A MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR

Dear Colleague:

As you may know, providing time-sensitive and cost effective education modules to the world’s property professionals has been a passion of mine for some time.

In my forty-year career running both an international valuation practice and an education center - originally set up merely as a pipeline for my own trainees – I have experienced first hand, the pressures of converting trainees to professionals as rapidly yet as rigorously as possible.

I have been made even more keenly aware of the need for good real estate education during my 2005-2006 Presidency of the 125,000-member Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

Everywhere I went, employers talked to me about the chronic skills-gap within the profession. At the same time, younger students whether studying at existing Institutions or taking their training through professional institutions, spoke to me of the challenge of finding relevant coursework to take advantage of the obvious opportunities in today’s emerging and established property markets.

The same issue confronts us all – how to harness today’s technology to produce the well-educated professionals that employers need to service their clients. How to deliver rigorous, yet time-sensitive, property education across the world.

I hope that my IPS adaptive modules, offered both on-line and in the classroom, will contribute building blocks to the credentialing processes of organizations, private sector firms, government departments and the students themselves.
